Search Engine Optimisation (or SEO) is the process of developing (or re-developing) your website into a form that will rank highly on Search Engines. The most popular Search Engines are Google, Yahoo and MSN. All search engines use different criteria for the order of which pages come first, second, third etc., and there criteria for this is constantly evolving or changing. At Safecoms, we are constantly researching and testing to keep abreast of the latest systems and techniques employed by Search Engines. We recommend an ongoing Search Engine Optimisation program, with regular monitoring your Search ranking and results, and use our systems and techniques to update your website and "website code" as necessary to maintain optimal results. Here is a summary of some of the processes we use for Search Engine Optimisation, which ideally should go right back to the planning stages, before your website is even "put up" on the web. It is a lot easier and more cost effective to get a high Search Engine Ranking if the site is designed with this in mind, from conception. Everyone is Selling Something: Firstly, in reality, it needs to be understood that everyone is selling something via their website. Whether its a product for sale, a service or information, advice or opinion, or even themselves, whether there is an exchange of money or not. Everyone is "selling" something, and our task to see you get the optimal result, maximising your return on investment in your website. How Search Engines get information: They "trawl" the Internet searching for new, changed and existing websites, constantly, repetitively, relentlessly - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Yet already there are so many websites that it takes some time for each site to be discovered then "trawled", and for the process to continue. One of our skills is to use certain techniques to get your site found early, and often. Initial Website Planning and Design Target Customer Profiles: Proposition Development is analysing who your customers are and what products or services you can sell or promote, how they will find your website and how they will be convinced to do business with you. Look and Feel of Your Website: Because most people are impatient and want results form the Internet quickly, your website has to be easy to use, easy to navigate and easy to view/read the content of, and understand or "get" your message. Coding of your Website: What you actually see on a web browser, like these words, is only part of the story. There are many more pieces of text or code or HTML (the language of the web) that are hidden from public view, that perform important functions in the construction and display of a web page. "Meta Tags" are orders in code given to a Web Browser, and Search Engine, to describe certain features and the control intended display of the web page. Certain of these can re-coded to have your web page optimised to assist in a high Search Engine Ranking. Keywords are a fundamental trigger for Search Engines to find your website. Keyword Development and Deployment is the discovery of "Keywords" that will be most relevant to your products or services. This is a complex and lengthy job. Description: is what you read when the Search Engine displays its results. We ensure that this accurately reflects your website's message on Searches. Page Title: Another piece of code that Search Engines use to work out what your content is all about. We ensure that this is accurate and relevant in relation to your overall Page Content, and contains certain coding that "activates" the Search Engine. Page Content: Text and/or Images (Words and/or Pictures) get your message across to your "Visitors" (Customers). This message has to be accurate, contain relevant information, be correctly spelt and be interesting and written in a way that is easy to view and read, and contain Keywords and Key phrases that relate to your product or service. Text that has important or vital information and relevance to other sites, can have outbound links to those sites, and your site can attract inbound links from other sites, that especially in Google's case, increases your Search Engine Ranking markedly. Our team is experienced at Copywriting for maximum SEO. Images or Pictures can also be optimised, as they can have related coding that tells Search Engines what they are and what relevance they have. Localisation of Page Content: Text and/or words can be in more than just English. Even English has different spelling depending on which Country you are in. For example, Optimisation is spelt with and "s" everywhere but in North America, where it will be spelt with a "z". This is important to SEO, in that People using a Search Engine, searching for a word in your site, need to find it the way they expect from their local perspective. Website Localisation: When the budget allows, there is great merit in translating an entire website into the local form of language for a particular geographic market, then host it locally in conjunction with the use of a country specific domain name. For example, WebMarketing.in.th - for Thailand. The Website, being hosted locally, should "load" faster, further increasing the popularity of your website. Navigation Menus: Should be obvious, well positioned and intuitive to use. A great deal of research, testing and refinement can be done during the planning phase to optimise the Navigation system. The wording of the Menus is also a major consideration, due to Search Engines picking up the relevance of the Menu item to the destination Page Content. If people can navigate the site easily and find what they want quickly, statistics show they will likely revisit and/or refer your site, which will increase its popularity and page ranking. Sitemaps: This is a special file that we use, telling Search Engines in summary form, what is on your website and the navigation pathways that your site uses. Using this technology in the right way, increases the Ranking of your website. "No Follow" code: We can instruct Search Engines in what parts of your website to display, or not. Especially useful when your website has material that you only want viewed from a restricted audience that has to "Log In" for example, confidential product information. Conversion Rate: Is the number of your Visitors that take up your product or service. The "bottom line" goal is to increase your "conversion rate", through higher Search Engine Rankings that result in translating into more visitors that results in more sales...... Monitoring and Refinement: An essential ongoing part of our Service is the Monitoring and active Refinement of the Search Engine Optimisation processes we have carried out for you. Remember as we said earlier, the methods by which Search Engines operate continues to evolve, so therefore do we.
